Multi-Detector-Row CT Diagnosis of Adrenal Incidentaloma in Patients with Hepatocellular Carcinoma

چکیده
We investigate the diagnostic reliability of differentiating between lipid-poor adrenal adenomas and metastatic adrenal tumors originating from hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) using a routine dynamic CT protocol for liver imaging. Eighteen metastatic adrenal tumors originating from HCC and 13 lipid-poor adrenal adenomas were identified. Dynamic CT data were analyzed for CT attenuation of adrenal lesions before and after contrast administration. When a cutoff of 36 HU was set for adrenal lesions at pre-contrast attenuation, the sensitivity and specificity for the diagnosis of metastatic lesions were 94.4% and 92.3%, respectively. Attenuation criteria on pre-contrast CT may help optimize the differentiation between these lesions.

Not functioning adrenocortical carcinoma from diagnosis to management: a case report
Abstract Adrenal gland cysts are rare indications of adrenal diseases, which are commonly asymptomatic. In radiological studies, these cysts, known as incidentalomas, are often detected by coincidence accounting for 6% of the population. Adrenal incidentalomas are commonly detected, and autonomous cortisol hypersecretion is the most prevalent abnormality associated with these masses. Since thi...
متن کاملCT-Value (△HU and CT-Value ratioin) differential diagnosis of small hepatocellular carcinoma from focal nodular hyperplasia
Background: The objective was to explore the value of the CT value difference (△HU) and CT value ratio (CVR) between the hepatic arterial (AP), portal (PP), and delayed phases (DP) to differentiate the small Hepatocellular Carcinoma (SHCC, ≤ 3 cm) from the small Focal nodular hyperplasia (SFNH, ≤ 3 cm). Materials and Methods: All the lesions were confirmed by clinically and/or pathologically an...
متن کاملFDG-avid portal vein tumor thrombosis from hepatocellular carcinoma in contrast-enhanced FDG PET/CT
Objective(s): In this study, we aimed to describe the characteristics of portal vein tumor thrombosis (PVTT), complicating hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in contrast-enhanced FDG PET/CT scan. Methods: In this retrospective study, 9 HCC patients with FDG-avid PVTT were diagnosed by contrast-enhanced fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (FDG PET/CT), which is a comb...
متن کاملUsing multidetector row computed tomography to diagnose and stage pancreatic carcinoma: the problems and the possibilities.
The sensitivity of computed tomography (CT) in the diagnosis of pancreatic neoplasms and accurate tumor staging has significantly been improved by the use of thin-section multi-detector row CT techniques. Greater table speed, improved tube cooling, high resolution imaging and the possibility of isotropic voxels have led to optimal multiplanar reconstruction in any arbitrary plane and particular...

BACKGROUND To demonstrate clinical characteristics of adrenal incidentaloma in South China and explore its comprehensive management. METHODS The clinical data of patients with adrenal neoplasm from Jan 1998 to Dec 2012 were retrospectively analysed.
